Well, it is a beautiful Saturday, and FINALLY feels like Spring. This morning was a good morning for sleeping in, BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, one of my lovely neighbor's lovely son (NOT!!!) decided to visit his parents in his black, chromed-up-the-wazoo, dark-window-tinted van (I thought those things went out of style in the 70's?), decided to start the thing up, and sit there gunning the motor for 10 minutes, for no good reason other than to wake me up and prevent me from enjoying one of the few days during the week that I can luxuriously sleep in later in the morning.
SOOOOOOOOOOO, I got up, got dressed, and went out to the shed and took my trusty mountain bike out and Went For A Ride-a good idea, because I went out exploring the back roads of my area, some of which I didn't know existed, and enjoyed the peace and quiet of riding along farm fields with very few humans in sight.
Ahhhhh, HUMANS. Brings me to the rant portion of this blog entry. I don't know WHY people that don't have a lot of money feel like it's imperative of them to act like fools and ignorant slobs. I don't have much money, but at least I know how to act. Although there are many RICH people that don't know how to act, either, but their money allows them to hide their ignorance from the rest of the world, unless they choose to display it.
We, as humans, are a guest species on this planet. When you truly give it some serious thought, we stick out like the proverbial sore thumb, but in a much more ominous way. We keep breeding, keep squeezing out puppies, keep consuming and destroying-we take so much more than we really need from this planet, and give back NOTHING. We hate each other and kill each other, and in the absence of that, we are just plain rude and boorish.
