Big Changes Comin'?
Since Christmas is come and gone, and I don't have to act artificially cheery for another year, I'm posting a link in the title of this post that should make the reader of this entry step back, take a deep breath, and realize that the world is changing big time, and he/she needs to start considering how to reorder his/her life in accordance with this information.

Here along the Eastern Seaboard of the U.S., Fall is finally settling in full strength. You've heard of a 3 Dog Night? Well, I don't have dogs, but I have cats, and yes, it was definitely a 3 CAT night. LOL. Although if you know cats, even if it WAS a 3 Cat Night, you probably wouldn't end up with 3 cats, anyway. I had 1 1/2 - my little skinny one Pepper (Boop) plastered up against my side, and my big fat one Cookie curled up on a new pair of sweatpants laying on my bed next to me. Along with 2 new pairs of jeans, a sweatshirt, a flannel shirt, and a nice gray felt-type shirt which I haven't had the gumption to put away yet.
I won't bore you with my latest dentists story, but suffice it to say, I'd prefer 10 root canals to the prep for the porcelain cap that I experienced yesterday. It was like Shock and Awe in my mouth. I swear the guy was using a belt sander on the tooth, and the vibrations I think scrambled my brains for awhile, 'cause at work, I had a hard time thinking. Oops, that's the case every day.
*sigh*
oh, well.

"Damn blogs" I think-"They're more high-maintenance than I am!" Ya gotta keep making entries...
The older I get, the more neurotic I think I'm getting. When you're young, you think you're unique, but do everything in your power to be just like everyone else. As you age, you grow into yourself and get tired of all the struggling and game-playing and eventually just throw up your hands and say "To hell with it, if people don't like me the way I am, then TOUGH TOENAILS!"
Depending on your own personal set of circumstances, we all grow comfortable with our own individual brand of insanity.

Well, it is a beautiful Saturday, and FINALLY feels like Spring. This morning was a good morning for sleeping in, BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, one of my lovely neighbor's lovely son (NOT!!!) decided to visit his parents in his black, chromed-up-the-wazoo, dark-window-tinted van (I thought those things went out of style in the 70's?), decided to start the thing up, and sit there gunning the motor for 10 minutes, for no good reason other than to wake me up and prevent me from enjoying one of the few days during the week that I can luxuriously sleep in later in the morning.
SOOOOOOOOOOO, I got up, got dressed, and went out to the shed and took my trusty mountain bike out and Went For A Ride-a good idea, because I went out exploring the back roads of my area, some of which I didn't know existed, and enjoyed the peace and quiet of riding along farm fields with very few humans in sight.
Ahhhhh, HUMANS. Brings me to the rant portion of this blog entry. I don't know WHY people that don't have a lot of money feel like it's imperative of them to act like fools and ignorant slobs. I don't have much money, but at least I know how to act. Although there are many RICH people that don't know how to act, either, but their money allows them to hide their ignorance from the rest of the world, unless they choose to display it.
We, as humans, are a guest species on this planet. When you truly give it some serious thought, we stick out like the proverbial sore thumb, but in a much more ominous way. We keep breeding, keep squeezing out puppies, keep consuming and destroying-we take so much more than we really need from this planet, and give back NOTHING. We hate each other and kill each other, and in the absence of that, we are just plain rude and boorish.

Today I was driving home from a 2 day visit to my parents' house. It's a 180 mile trip one way, and my car radio doesn't work, so my brain was spitting out a few threads of reasoning here and there.
One of the better ones: Twice a year, we change our clocks either an hour back or an hour forward-but it's solely a human thang-the earth doesn't know from Daylight Savings or Standard time, and that brought me to the Bible quote about a thousand years being as a day in the eyes of the Lord, or something similar. If we humans weren't here, then time truly wouldn't matter, as there is no need of a structured time system by nature. Only by us humans is it needed. So if nature's time system is similar to a Creator's time system (providing that there is a Creator), then is nature closer to God?
I would certainly hope so, because we humans are about as far from a loving, compassionate Creator as anything could be.

It's been so damn long since I've posted anything on here, I forgot my username and password. Sheesh.
When I'm at work, I have all these flashes of brilliance-YEAH! I'll put that in my blog!-but the thoughts come into my brain, and fly right on out again. Like we say in the second shift microfilming department, OH WELL. Or if we're having a bad night, it's OH F$%^ING WELL!! But since this is a family blog, I'll leave the bad words out of it.
I was shuffling through some papers on my desk/breakfast nook table (mostly desk), and found 2 1/2 pages of babbling that I don't even recall where I got it from, or if I even wrote it down from my own thoughts. Actually, I think it was notes from a long-past trip to a Lyndon LaRouche convention (!!!)
Anyway, here's the contents of said pages:
We are responsible for this planet. A system of sovereign republics that provide for the common good. Well, there ya go. This has absolutely nothing to do with the Bush Administration.
Railroads help improve the systems of production( towns, farms, etc ) The government needs to develop and be responsible for institutions of infrastructure, according to the needs of the population. Money needs to be managed by the gov't <------that last statement just made my hair stand on end. YIKES!
The purpose of the government is to do good in the sense of agape. Agape? The government? We can only wish...
Life is a coin, spend it wisely. hmmmmmmmm...
Railroads are essential in the infrastructure of damn, there's no end to that sentence on the sheet of yellow legal paper
Seeing reality for what it is. George Bush is trying to create an empire from a dying country. yea-dying emotionally and spiritually.
We are in a collapse phase of a depression. After the industries shut down, we started stealing and looting from the rest of the world. Our government gives solutions without stating facts. The American populace only elects politicians so that they can hate the government even more. Makes sense to me!
This country was established to eliminate the condition of 'human cattle'
The few other words on the page truly make no sense at all, so they are not included here.
I have nothing else self-indulgent to say today! Take care, and be kind to each other!

I was driving to a nearby city today for a doctor's appointment, listening to the radio during the drive. The news came on at the top of the hour, and what was the topic? George W. Bush's new campaign to re-establish a space program, with more trips to the moon, and Mars, too. Well, I about hit the roof, because I am so sick and tired of this guy forgetting about the common working person (not that he ever DID worry about them). We need the money that he'd be spending on something this country has already accomplished HERE, helping those that need it (education, unemployment insurance, health care, ad infinitum). The only way I'D ever support a new space program is if Bush himself and his buddies Cheney (the Stealth VP), Rumsfeld, Ashcroft, and a few of the others would be the first astronauts for the mission, with a one-way ticket. I never thought I'd see this country coming to this.
The Holy Trinity of the U.S. elite: Technology, Money, and Entertainment. All of these things are leading us to our downfall as a nation. We need to be SIMPLIFYING, not becoming more complex. We have lost a sense of ourselves as a nation, as a country united. There are so many different ethic groups, lifestyle groups, religious groups, and they are all fighting among themselves, and in the meantime, our selected government is selling us down the river, all the while waving Old Glory in front of our faces so we can't see what's really going on.
Divide and Conquer...
Wake up, people!

I picked up a book I had started reading quite awhile ago, ETHICS FOR THE NEW MILLENIUM by the Dalai Lama, and found a sheet of paper that I'd been writing my thoughts down on. The date on it was 11/7; I'm assuming it was from last year...
"Dependent Origination"
Dependent Origination and the U.S.-"Recently, while reading a book written by H.H. the Dalai Lama, the thought struck me that one of the concepts he explains, the concept of dependent origination, can apply very strongly to the U.S., and the world, as to some of the situations we as humans find ourselves in."
...an unfinished thought. Probably a pretty good one, too.

Well, this is the inaugural post in my new, spur-of-the-moment blog. Aren't you thrilled? Anyway, when I was in high school, many, many moons ago, I used to like to write in journals. Also wrote a bunch of papers, and thought they turned out all right. So here we go. Who knows what you may find in here...
